4th Field Ambulance

1st Australian Light Railway Operating Company

Further info: (Courtesy Tim Lycett)

The portrait photo was probably taken in the first half of 1917 because he’s
wearing the brass Gallipoli ‘A’ on the colour patch of the 4th Field
Ambulance.   (he left the 4th F.Amb in July 1917).

I think the second full length photo was taken soon after returning home in
early 1919.   He’s still wearing the ‘A’ but the colour patch is for the
Light Railway Operating Company.   You can also see his overseas service
chevrons (1 x red at bottom indicating he left Australia prior to 31st Dec
1914 and then 4 x blue above for each additional year away) and his 1914
leave rosette.

Father: Lance Corporal Harry Lycett

Brothers:
Private Frederick James Lycett
